Recipes & ideas using our Preserves & Chutneys that are made using the old fashioned methods to give you that authentic homemade flavour.
A few suggestions for very taste quick & easy recipes
1. Quick Pizza
Ingredients
Bread (thick slice or ideally french Bread cut longways)
Mature Cheddar Cheese - grated
Streaky Bacon
Rich Tomato Chutney
How to prepare for Cooking
Lightly toast the bread. Grill Bacon. Warm the Rich Tomato Chutney in a pan. Once warm spoon the chutney onto the toast followed by the grated cheese. Finally add the bacon and place under the grill until a golden finish and the bacon crispy.
Note for a more spicy flavour try using a jar of Mixed Pepper Chutney.
2. Hot & Spicy Chicken
Ingredients
2 Chicken Breasts
Handful of red grapes cut in half
Mayonnaise
Spicy Mango Chutney
How to prepare for Cooking
Cut chicken into pieces and gently cook in a frying pan with a little oil.
Mix half the jar of Mango Chutney with tablespoons of mayonnaise.
Mix all the ingredients together including the grapes. This can be heated through in the pan or placed in a dish to be warmed though later.
Note: for those who do not like things spicy use a jar of the fruity Mango Chutney.
3. Roasted Winter Vegetables
Ingredients
Vegetables of your choice i.e: potatoes, sweede, parsnips, carrotts, onions, courgettes etc etc
Oil for roasting
Freshly Grated Horseradish
How to prepare for Cooking
Perpare vegetables and then toss them in the Freshly Grated Horsradish. Heat oil in the oven in a baking tray and once hot add the vegetables. Serve when golden and crispy.
4. Horseradish Mash
Ingredients
Old Potatoes (King Edwards or Marias)
1 tablespoon of Freshly Grated Horseradish
Milk
How to prepare for Cooking
Peel and Cook potatoes. Mash and then beat in the horseradish and milk. Season to taste and top with a little butter.
(Ideal for topping a shepheards pie)
5. Spicy Cheese on Toast
Ingredients
Bread (Thick Slice)
Cheese
Mixed Pepper Chutney
How to prepare for Cooking
Lightly toast the bread. Place cheese on top and place under a hot grill until it starts tp melt. Remove from grill and place a large spoon of Mixed Pepper Chutney in the centre and return it to the grill to allow the relish to blend with cheese.
6. Sauce for a Salmon or Tuna Sandwich
Ingredients
2 Tablespoons Honey Mustard
2 Tablespoons Coarse Ground Mustard
1 Teaspoon white wine vingar
1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
70g Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper
How to prepare for Cooking
Mixed altogether, warm and pour over Salmon or Tuna.
7. Aubergine & Garlic
Blend and mix with mayonnaise. Makes a wonderful dip or as a sauce for prawns.
8. Onion Marmalade
Saute some mushrooms in a little butter, add Onion Marmalade and heat until onions begin to caramelise, place over steak, sausages or burgers. Also great with barbeques!
9. Mustards
Spread mustards over chops, Steaks. Chicken Portions, Sprinkle a little of brown sugar on top and then place in oven or under hot grill to give a delicious caramelised topping. Apple Mustad particularly good with pork Chop....
Spread over beef joint before roasting
Add to mash potatoes or potatoes cakes
Add to jacket potatoes with butter & cheese
Add to vingarette for wonderful salad dressing
10. Jams
A spoonful of any of the Jams in plain natural yogurt or creme fraiche - delicious!
Warm a couple of spoonfuls and pour over creamy vanilla ice cream
Wonderful in rice pudding
Add a jar to a fruit trifle.....tastes good
Fried Camenbert or brie with Gooseberry Jam
Duck with Red Wine plus warmed Morello Cherry Jam
Try Rhubarb & Ginger with venison or other game
